Computing and
IT at City College
Norwich
If
you have studied
computing and IT
to at least Senior
High School Diploma
level, and you can
speak and write English
to a reasonable level,
our Centre for Computing
and Information Systems
can offer you an
exciting choice of
higher education
courses at Foundation
degree, HND and Honours
degree levels.
City College is
a regional college
of Anglia Polytechnic
University and you
will be studying
for a university
degree. Our HND qualifications
are awarded by BTEC,
one of the UK's most
esteemed awarding
bodies.
Our IT students
enjoy exceptional
facilities, with
free access to the
Internet and four
Rooms of PCs solely
for their use, as
well as to the cross-college
networked computer
system a total
of over 900
computers in all.
These have been further
enhanced recently
by a generous donation
of Cisco IT networking
equipment from BP.
The open access area
is open six days
a week with friendly
staff on hand to
offer free advice
and support. The
centre is open during
most holidays with
reduced opening hours.
You may feel youd
benefit from extra
help with English
when you begin studying,
or you may need to
brush up your IT
and Computing skills
to the level required
for entry. This is
no problem
we can help arrange
extra tuition in
your first term or
you might prefer
to take a one-year
Access to Computing
programme before
starting a degree
or HND.
Cisco Supercollege
Cisco Systems have
recently awarded
us Supercollege status
and we are working
with them on a number
of research projects.
We offer the Cisco
CCNA qualification
- the industry standard
networking qualification
- and we also build
it into our degree
and HND programmes.
