Where are we?
Ayr is located on the West coast of Scotland, 36 miles from Glasgow and 80 miles from the capital city Edinburgh. Both are vibrant cities offering a range of cultural and leisure attractions. Edinburgh is renowned for is dramatic castle and world famous international festival. Glasgow is fashionable and lively and is second to only London for its choice of shops, bars and restaurants.
Ayr is rich in history and is the birthplace of Scotland’s national poet, Robert Burns and is therefore a major tourist resort. It is also famous for its golf courses and was voted the best golf destination in the world! Ayr is only 10 minutes from Prestwick International Airport which offers low cost flights to London and other European Cities. |

State-of-the-Art Facilities

The student experience is enhanced the by the quality of teaching accommodation and facilities. Most recent developments include a new multi million pound Business, IT & Design Centre houses the latest Pentium 4 computers and Apple Mac G4 computers. Internationals students benefit from continuous online access allowing them to keep in touch with their friends and family back home.
Most of the faculties offer specialised teaching facilities to meet the needs of the students. Recent developments have been in new hospitality kitchens, a simulated hospital ward, drama and recording studios with some of the best equipment in Scotland. Other facilities include a library, refectory, nursery, student common room and a multicultural room. |
Our Courses

Ayr College also offers a range of professional courses including the Institute of Leadership and Management certificate and diploma courses (ILM), ACCA accountancy courses and Institute of Personnel Development (IPD) courses as well as degree level study in Business Management (BA in Partnership with Herriot Watt University). We also offer English as a foreign language/English as a second language, General Education Highers and an International Foundation Programme course (IFPS) which prepare students for entering first year university courses. |
Fresh Talent Initiative
On completion of an HND course, student can opt to return home, stay and work in Scotland for two years, or apply for a final year degree place at a Scottish university. This opportunity applies to our HND or degree level courses.
Helping you to settle into your studies
Our international students are looked after from the minute they apply to Ayr College, until well after they leave us. Our international team can help arrange your accommodation, banking, visa extensions and healthcare. We take pride in helping students with their international student issues, thus allowing them to concentrate on their studies and enjoy their time in Scotland. Many of our students live with Scottish families or share accommodation with other international students. Our staff are happy to help you in any way they can. |
Graduation Day
At the end of each year we hold our annual graduation ceremony where Ayr college students receive their certificates and diplomas of achievement. It is a special day in our academic calendar as it allows staff and students to join together in a day of celebration. Lead by a Piper in traditional Scottish dress, students and staff parade through the town of Ayr to mark the achievement of their educational goals. |

- Pay £1000 deposit (which is refundable should your visa be refused).
- Apply for a visa to the British Embassy High Commission.
- Advise us of your visa decision and sent us your arrival requirements.
