Information Technology

Bringing the world closer together

It's about helping people interface with computers. About moving information from one universe to another. About showing individuals how that information can be used to improve their lives.

It's about LAN, WAN, operating systems, installation, configuration, troubleshooting and repair. It's about the biggest thing in education today. If computers are the machines that drive the business world, our graduates are the fuel that drives the machines.

Visual Communications & Design Technologies

Making the world a more beautiful place

They see beauty in our world a little more than the rest of us. Artists and designers, to whom the visual experience is everything. However they create with software, fabric or furniture, their vision stops the earth for a moment as it spins on its axis.

Where would we be without these creative personalities? In a much sadder, less colorful world.

How has technology changed your daily life? If you are like most people, you will be hard-pressed to name all the ways.

Those who ply these new and ever-changing technologies create remarkable products using a dazzling array of tools: computer software, digital sound and CD-ROMs.

And what more can be said about the influence of the Internet? Except to say the changes it has wrought are fundamental to everyone’s business and personal lives. But even that is something of an understatement.

Photography

Preserving our world in images for posterity

From its inception 150 years ago until the very recent past, the art of photography remained very much the same. In the last 10 years, however, this art form has undergone sweeping technological change.

Digital imagery is now often the rule rather than the exception, and photographers are required to know how to use sophisticated editing software to enhance retouch and combine the images they create. The same is true of videography, where – once again– digital technology is edging out tape and film.

Our graduates are at the leading edge of this new technology.

Business Studies

Helping the business world respond to technology

Today's business professionals are marching to the beat of a new, technological drum. Cell phones, personal computers, the Internet, and worldwide overnight package delivery have changed transactions or negotiations that once took weeks to complete into events that occur in an instant.

Those who enter the business world today must be prepared to move at the speed of the data they’ll generate. It’s a daunting task, one that requires a first-rate business education – like the one students receive at any of the CEC business schools.

Culinary Arts

Creating world cuisine with American flair

1999 was a banner year for the CEC schools that train students in the culinary arts: it was the first complete year of affiliation with the rich tradition of Le Cordon Bleu.

Now, students who complete our culinary arts programs receive a Diplome from Le Cordon Bleu – as well as a degree from the school – which adds a remarkable level of prestige as these new chefs enter the business world.

Fine restaurants, hotels and resorts around the world employ CEC graduates, because they can count on their exhaustive training to have prepared them for a career in the culinary arts.

Fashion Design

Dressing the world with style and grace

Some fashion designers become celebrities who parade their creations on the runways of Europe and New York. Others labor quietly, inventing styles more suited to daily life.

Whichever path they take, today's fashion designers work with a new palette, born of high-tech fabrics and mind-boggling manufacturing methods. Still, each design comes down to the individual designer's ideas and personal taste.

This individualism, once a part of so many professions, is now something that sets fashion apart from many of the other commercial artistic pursuits. Just as a CEC education sets our graduates apart.
